In October 2017, the mayor of Cape Town, South Africa declared that the City would run out of water by the following March - Day Zero.

The City's 4 million residents rely almost entirely on rain fall for their water supply. The residents of a coastal city, on a planet that is ~70% covered with water can't find enough of it to drink, to clean. Irony.

Desalination requires expensive energy but at what cost? Modern day convenience including plenty of power to give us light and fuel our electronics doesn't exactly quench our thirst. We can figure this out. It starts with prioritizing clean water and clean energy as a basic human right - a free resource for everyone.
