about
Change. Moving from one place to another can bring excitement or anxiety. You can move away from these feelings and leave them behind; in exchange for the same old thing or something new. It's the thrill of the unknown. I was tired, running, scared on the inside, calm and steady on the outside. I had no choice, I had to go. Thank god I did! This song is about a journey north, towards an opportunity that became home.
lyrics
LYRICS:
these yellow lines are moving south as I drive north from Mexico,
the only way that you can go
the song that's playing in my mind is different from the radio,
the only song I seem to know
I've heard of Tennessee can cure the musically ambitious,
but I don't know...
I must be on my way to West Virginia
she had the notion that true love was bigger than her affirmation,
that's what she figured anyway
she grabbed the whitest sheeted tree and made it bleed with her intention
her paper effigy, night coffee fueled and moving quickly
I didn't know, West Virginia calling me, I'm pleased to meet you
running fast and feeling slow the dashboard says my tank is empty,
this lonely road taking its toll
She pours some tee for me, takes my hand the lights are low,
her smile the only words at all
one million memories, I've never had such recollections in no time at all
damn it feels good to be home in West Virginia
